"Songs about Jaim" is my attempt to jot down any noteworthy thought, activity, adventure, or interesting anecdote of my existence. Everything I write here is a "lyric" in the 22nd verse of my life. Come sing along by my side as I sail through Ithaka.

Mexican Pizza on the Side

Life has been stressful but I've still managed to get everything done and have fun in between. I think that's something I like about myself..that I can balance my life with school, work, friends, fun and family.

My mom came to visit Thursday, which was the highlight of the week. When she is here, it seems like all of my problems go away, and I can just relax. She got to watch her nerdy daughter do lab work Thursday for a bit, and then we headed downtown for a little shopping. We went to dinner at the Custom House in Avila and had THE BEST salad I've ever tasted. GO THERE and get the salad with avocado and crab. SO GOOD. We also shared a filet mignon and mashed potatoes and clam chowder! Best dinner ever. Afterwareds we went to Apple Farm and watched the season finales for The OC and ER. Friday, I had to go to class for a bit and give a stupid NMR spectroscopy presentation to non-scientists. I got all blank stares, but oh well...their problem. After school, we went to Mission Grill for lunch and shared quesadillas and a chicken focaccia sandwich. We went shopping a little more and then mom had to go home :(

Friday night Rachel, Jo and I went to the TKE pledge party. The theme was catholic school girl, so we got all dressed up! It was pretty fun..we all got report cards and mingled with everyone. Honestly I dont really know what we did the whole time. We were there for hours, but did absolutely nothing of importance besides take a bazillion pictures and hang out with typical frat guys...hmm. It was fun anyway.

Last night was the chemistry and biochemistry banquet. I got to get all dressed up and cute and hang out with some new people. It was fun seeing shannon and dr schoonover there and seeing drunken Liz. I even won a prize and the salmon was amazing. I hada bit too much to drink however, but eventually made it downtown for more craziness. PF met us at Mothers where we met up with Katy Wong, Jon, and Jess. We all headed to Mcarthys for a beer? Ya..a beer. Rachel was hammered by the time we got there, so we went back to Mothers for the Jin Ho Show! Woot woot!

Today i'm stuck at work on a beautiful Sunday :( At least i get more $$ and time to do my lab reports :) Life is definitely interesting lately. Everything seems out of the ordinary for some reason. I just can't wait for this quarter to be overwith so I can relax a little.

You tell yourself to help you get by"
